Heroes - Overwatch

Heroes

There are currently 21 playable heroes in Overwatch. Each fits into one of fourroles and has unique abilities. A team can have more than one of the same hero at one time and players can switch between heroes during a game.
Heroes come from a variety of national/ethnic backgrounds, and occasionally speak in their native languages during matches.[1]

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Heroes are controlled using a mouse and keyboard. Abilities are keyed to Shift, E, 1 and 2, and an Ultimate ability is controlled with Q. Heroes exchange specific dialogue with each other based on their character history during matches.
Heroes gain experience during matches. This experience is assigned to each hero based on how much they were played and their overall effectiveness during the match. Hero experience grants access to cosmetic upgrades, but will not affect a hero's power. There is no penalty for switching heroes during a match.
Heroes will be added over time post-launch as free DLC.
